George Lucas was just one of literally millions of individuals inspired and touched by the writings of Carlos Castaneda in the late 60s. Carlos was an anthropology student who allegedly became a sorcerer’s apprentice in search of enlightenment and transcendence. He broke the golden rule of his discipline by becoming a participant and not an observer. As time went on various scholars and writers would find flaws in his narrative. Even though he is no longer considered a shaman but a charlatan, he is still seen as the founding father of the New Age Movement.
